As CD isn't quite as desirable in the age of the digital download, it's a shame the albums weren't reissued on vinyl. Especially the Different Class with the choose you own cover. I don't regret too much in life, but not getting that along with 12" of Razzmatazz are a couple. Only vinyl I ever got was the Sisters e.p. And considering all I buy these days is vinyl....
Still, you never know the Pulp 7" box set may come along one day. Only 16 singles in the Gift/Island era. Ideal present for a Pulp fan!

Sigh. Every time I try to get Different Class or This Is Hardcore or anything else on vinyl on ebay, the bidding gets disgusting. The only copy of Different Class currently on ebay is the one with the different covers and is currently at $63. I have never seen any vinyl in stores, either, except for the Jarvis singles and the Relaxed Muscle single. Saw the Relaxed Muscle album once...probably should have bought it.

Wanted one on ebay recently, but the bidding shot up to $70+ so I gave up. This Is Hardcore is also obscenely expensive. Guess they aren't being published since I don't see even online retailers selling them nowadays.

Everything is too expensive, I bought everybody's problem for £40, now the same guy is selling my lighthouse and after 2 days it was on £20, its tempting to blow all my spare cash on it, but i just can't afford, its the only single i don't have. The problem is with ebay is that the things that you want are always on when you don't have the cash.

Prices for harder-to-find Pulp records on eBay seem to have increased quite a bit recently. I only paid £18 for a copy of My Lighthouse 3 or 4 years ago.
Around the same time I got a copy of Everybody's Problem in excellent condition for £4.00 from an online shop. That's probably my best Pulp bargain.

There's probably not that much demand for them to be re-released on vinyl... Pulp have always been stuck midway between the mainstream and cult market, so I think it's difficult for Island to really know what to do in terms of re-releases. I suppose the 3 CD re-releases a couple of years ago covered both target markets.
Vinyl re-releases would be lovely though, it seems quite trendy at the moment... what with the Scott Walker vinyl re-releases and the Belle and Sebastian ones last year. But then as I said, they are more "cult" artists.

* A special pressing of the Different Class 12" vinyl LP, limited to 2000 copies, was released on the Simply Vinyl label in January 2000 (SVLP 166). The heavy duty disc (180gm) comes in a reproduction sleeve and outer PVC wallet. NB: this vinyl release was re-pressed during 2003.
* During 2004, Universal Music re-issued the vinyl LP with the interchangable covers but without the silver embossing and with some minor changes to the sleeve.
2000 and 2004. Why not complete the sequence with 2008

I went to Amoeba today and asked if they had any Pulp vinyl and they laughed at me. They get them in once or twice a year and they don't even make it on the shelves or wall because employees usually grab them. Apparently they would sell non-sealed records for $20 even though they go for $100-200 on ebay.
Guess I'm lucky I got the Jarvis solo record on amazon last year for under $30 after shipping. Probably $100 now, too.

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to top as curious to why We Love Life is worth so much? I picked it up in a record store in Dublin about 5 years ago for 10 euros and now its going for well over £50+ on eBay, discogs, etc.
Were there only so many copies available or is it because of the reunion prices are just stupidly over-inflated and I just have to wait it out for prices to die down?? For the record, its the EU press, with the green lettering...
Im still trying to get my hands on a copy of DC with the interchangable covers. A friend of ours has one from when it was released and its soooooo nice.

It never goes for crazy prices, strangely. That might change now. I've had two copies one Ex, the other close to mint. They cost £30- £35. I think the highest I saw it go for was £45 at one point. But again, prices may be higher due to their reforming.

Don't forget that, apart from eBay, many small record stores have their own websites with a mail order catalogue (or at least they used to). I found my copy of "It" for £20 years ago on an obscure little site.
I think Fire are re-releasing it on vinyl too aren't they, if you aren't too bothered about it being an original.

I was talking to the guy in (I think it's called) Vinyl Exchange in Manchester (the second hand place down the road from Picadilly Records) a couple of months ago and he said that they never get people selling Pulp records. Said it just doesn't happen.

Vinyl exchange used to be really good. Now they charge ridiculously inflated prices for items that aren't even rare. People don't really sell to record shops now because they just completely rip you off when you could be making some decent capital on ebay- democratization of the second hand market! Wish I'd had access to it before I sold a load of great stuff for shit prices years ago (Divine Comedy LPs which I'd assumed no one would want-damn!). I remember Vinyl Ex did have the TIH LP for £40 in vg condition earlier this year...

It wasn't technically limited but there was perhaps an expectation that not many copies would need to be pressed because WLL was hardly in demand. The LPs always go for high prices because they are nice and are never readily available like CDs- they are deleted quite quickly.

Oooh, I was never keen on them. My main memory was going in there circa 1996/97 and seeing the CD singles of Countdown and Lipgloss for £15-£20 when they were still available down the road at HMV for a fiver or less. In fact that's probably where they got them from. Shysters!
My favourite place to get Pulp vinyl (other than Ebay of course) was Jack's Records in Sheffield. Got a lovely copy of It there about 5 years ago for £12 or so, and other similarly nice stuff before that - a mint condition They Suffocate at Night 12" springs to mind.
Still not got hold of a My Lighthouse 7" though. They seem to come up on Ebay quite a lot now but go for ridiculous money. Nice little nest egg for Mrs Tony K!
