- Pulp - More
- Suede - Antidepressants
Can't disagree with the top two . Though surprised Divine Comedy didn't make top 75.

Is the new Stereolab album in the list? That's an outstanding record.

There seems to be a theme developing...
UNCUT Albums of the Year:
1. MORE - Pulp
2. Instant Holograms On Metal Film - Stereolab
3. Antidepressants - Suede
I mean, I don't know if the decision-makers at the music monthlies are ex-staffers from NME and Melody Maker when the thing called Britpop held sway but it sure is sweet to see our heroes at the top of these polls. The Under-30s at large possibly wouldn't agree but maybe one day they'll realise.
Can you show us the minerals, ie the relevant cutting from Mojo ?

Sure, when the online version comes through, I will take some screenshots.
CMAT was #3 in Mojo

There may have been a cut-off date, it was released on 19th September, two weeks after the Suede album. Are there any other albums in the top 75 that were released after this date?

I suspect given DC LP was reviewed in November issue 2 months ago it would have been considered. MOJO isn't what it used to be. Was primarily for reissues, but since Q has gone it is more wide ranging.
PS - Divine Comedy not in Uncut top 80 either!

I feel bad for artists who release albums/books/films in Nov or December.
Because of the rush for year-end lists, they never have a chance of featuring in annual best ofs.

Used to be a common occurrence back in 1970s to capitalise on Yuletide sales. I suppose the most famed December release was London Calling by The Clash yet still managed to be in top ten of NME end of year list. Wouldnt happen now.

Check the library online; More got No. 1 in the UNCUT 2025 review as well. This is a glorious comeback!
This is a screenshot. If it obeys forum rules, I will remove it.

For me, the most ridiculous is BBC 6 Music. "More' is not on the Albums of the Year 2025 list, which was revealed 4 days ago! Pulp is on the Artists of the Year 2025, but, not on the album list.
No Pulp, no Suede, no Divine Comedy, no Stereolab ...

I've only heard 4 of those albums on the Quietus list: Pulp, Suede, Stereolab, Richard Dawson. As for the rest, haven't even heard OF most of the artists.
Edit: heard 5 (Patrick Wolf). Manics at #52, Pulp at #95 - surely not?

That Quietus ranking... they should stay quiet! Glad to see Mojo and Uncut have the album where they ought to, though.
