Ok, so this means nothing to anyone else I'm sure, but I am the man behind the "new sound" that Jarvis laughed at during the Scarborough 2023 gig. He made me repeat it, then one more time as they went off stage, and it must have left an impression on him as he even mentioned it on his Instagram afterwards...!
I've been telling my eldest about it - it's her first ever Pulp gig next Fri. I would actually pay money for a video or audio if anyone has it!
So what happened? Did you speak to Jarvis? I thought that they had been playing for a couple of months before Scarborough so any "new sound" would have been heard before then. Am I totally missing the point here? :D
He read out a poem about finding new sounds and he asked the audience to shout out a new sound to sum up the torrential rain that hit just before the gig. He counted down and then once everyone stopped I made a sound rather like a depressed James Brown. He seemed very taken with it, to keep asking me for it and mention it on social media... A young couple in front of me asked if they could film me doing it at the end as well! :D
I went on a date recently with someone who was there and filmed loads of the gig. She remembered the sound - but alas, no footage
Can you do a voicenote of it on here so we can judge?
I would but I don't know how to!
It's the next frontier in forums. I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet but your kids are gonna love it.
