Title: Sarah Wilson - Just Giving page
Post by: Sturdy on Aug 31, 2026, 11:18 PM
Hello,

Some of you I'm sure will remember Sarah Wilson as a regular poster on Bar Italia. Sarah was a passionate member of the Pulp fan community for 25+ years, going right back to the Pulp People newsletter and the Lipgloss mailing list, and Bar Italia I think right from the start, not to mention her YouTube videos.

Sarah sadly passed away earlier this year. I didn't personally know her especially well, but like many of us I crossed paths with her at gigs over the years, exchanged emails and messages, and was very sorry to hear the news, so it felt right to do something in memory of one of us who's left far too soon.

I've set up a JustGiving page in aid of the mental health charity Mind. Anything you donate will go straight to the charity, which does a lot of good work in terms of campaigning and direct support for those who need it. If you crossed paths with Sarah over the years, or if you didn't but would like to donate anyway, here's the link:

Yes, was shocked when I heard. Only met her a couple of times but it was clear that she had a lot of passion for the things she cared about like we all do with Pulp.

Yes, so sad. We could see from some of her posts that she struggled with a lot of things and life was hard for her. I met Sarah once in a pub behind the Royal Albert Hall, before the Teenage Cancer Trust show. At one point, Steve came in, trying to be incognito with his hat pulled down, to get some more beer for the dressing room and Sarah spotted him and had a quick word with him.
This is her Youtube channel - she made a long film about a trip to Sheffield and Chesterfield:

The Just Giving site doesn't seem to be working at the moment, it won't complete the payment, I'll try again later.

Looks like a payment came through from someone about 45 mins ago so think it's ok now?

I liked that film; was wondering where Sarah was. I remember her campaign to get a retweet as well.

Ah, that's quite sad. RIP.

Oh god that's so sad, I had no idea, didn't even know about all the awful trouble she had this year even though we followed each-other on Bluesky, no idea how I managed to miss all of that. I ended up spending probably more time with her than most people here, she had her troubles of course but she was still a lovely person.

Thanks Sturdy for letting us know. Awful news to lose anyone from the Pulp crowd but especially when it is long before their time.

I didn't know her personally but she was a familiar name on the forum who clearly had great affection for the band, and once upon a time kindly bequeathed to me some old VHS bootlegs - those sort you used to pick up and record and tape fairs - when she no longer had the means to play them, which I still have and cherish.

RIP

This is sad news. I met her briefly at Wireless 2011 & she was trying really hard to save us all space near the front bless her!

Without her dreams, how will we know when the band are about to reform?!

She'll be a big miss around this corner of the internet. What a shame.

Really sorry to hear this. I watched the film she made. It was nice to see all those places and made by someone with a clear passion for Pulp. She put a lot if effort into that. And the dream thread, that was entertaining! Rest in peace.

That is really, really sad news. I met Sarah a few times and you could just tell she was really passionate about the band.
