Has anybody else ever noticed that if you try to access the forum through Orange's 3G network, it says that the site is blocked by Orange Safeguard on account of it containing over-18's material!! Weird. Do any other mobile networks do this?

I think this is to do with your own individual settings on your handset or Orange account - I'm on Orange and can view it absolutely fine.  Perhaps you've accidentally activated the "child friendly Internet" Safeguard thing?

Seems like it has always been on Safeguard for me by default. Says I need to specially request for it to be turned off by calling customer services. Strange...I don't get that message for any other site. Wonder what it is about this forum that triggers it off?

Maybe our forum thinks it's time for something completely different?)

I think the reason you are getting 18+ blocks on this site is to do with the fact that a lot of the threads contain the word "Hardcore" and the filter goes nuts

Very good point actually. I hadn't thought of that!

There is an option that says "if you believe that this website has been wrongly categorized as for adults only, then click for review" which I have done a couple of times, but an email always comes back a few days later saying it is remaining restricted.

My guess is that they don't actually bother looking at the website to review it. They probably just type the URL into an application that spams for "adult" words.

When I had an orange phone as a teenager (ahem) i used to go through yahoo to avoid the filters.

First the photo has to be hosted somewhere (Flickr, Photbucket, Imgur), and you copy the image URL.  On this board, use the advanced editor for posting/replies, then click on the little tree photo icon, paste the URL for your photo, and click insert.

You can also just use HTML in the HTML tab...

Just a word as I just joined the forum. It's been a while I was following posts and discussion, and I finally decided to join as I felt more and more involved in Pulp music. So, as i said, just to say a (or two) words: Brillant Forum! x

Steve,

Please can I suggest that you remove users' ability to edit their own posts. This is mostly down to the Dixie thread. I believe that posts should be read as they were intended to be displayed and not edited versions.

How would people like it if their version of "Different Class" was replaced by one that contained edited versions of the songs? Not the ones that the band wanted you to hear when you bought the album!

I understand that spelling mistakes etc. are sometimes made but the user should proofread their posts. Also, you could easily edit any major mistakes such as images coming out too large.

How come, when I post more than a few times within a day on this forum, I start getting my posts refused as spamming?

EDIT: So it let me post here. Why can't I post in the Fire re-issues thread anymore?

Anyone tried getting to this site through Google recently?

I never bother with bookmarks, just go into recent search history and a thread appears in Google and I click on that then click on main page (yes I know I should work bookmarks out!)

Anyway now it doesn't appear and typing stuff like 'Pulp band forum' in brings up loads of inferior forums such as a britpop forum with a scattering of comments in the Pulp section.

As an aside I came across this Morrissey site Jarvis love on my search:

http://www.morrissey-solo.com/threads/116630-In-other-news-isn-t-Jarvis-Cocker-fabulous

Good find Fred. Incidently the 'owner'/administator of that forum, Kewpie (who has posted on the Jarvis thread), was recently banned by Morrissey from all his concerts for life, for posting 'vile and hatred' comments about Morrissey on there.

Jarvis - I love the beard really!

Hej'ooo. I am a new member of this forum wondering where I will get all my street cred? No, but I do wonder about a yahoo account I have been reading about, telling me of mysterious real demo versions of the cuckoo song. Enlighten me please and I will be your internetslave

Then you're to be commended for your detective skills. It's not really 100 posts, just wary of sharing too much as its a legal grey area. But I envy you hearing After You for the first time. What other stuff have you enjoyed on there?

Yes I feel like quite the computerhacking master and for your question, it is the only thing I have downloaded so far. And working for rewards seems nice, yes!

I thought you wanted cuckoo song most of all. Don't forget to sign the petition at pulpwiki.net so that those less skilled than yourself can hear these songs. Plus more that haven't been leaked.

Yes, cuckoo song was what I was out for, but I could not find it in the demo version. Is it up on the account? And the petition is something I have already signed. Can't believe how many who has signed the last week!

There is a small box at the bottom left of the page where the accounts are recorded. At the end is a button to contribute if you so desire.

On the most forums there's a link to get to the latest read message in the topic, but I never was able to figure out how to do that at baritalia. Am I missing something or there's no such feature here?

Is there any chance we could make it a rule for posters to mark off-topic, er, topics as such in the title? There have been several times recently where I've clicked something that I thought would have been Pulp related only to find that it wasn't.

I don't know if this has ever really been a rules kind of place, though.

There's probably a setting I could change somewhere to enable a voluntary "off-topic" icon option for new threads, if I weren't afraid to log into Activeboard and let them know I'm still alive.
