On instagram the booker for the George Tavern in east London posted an image of a poster for a John Lobb (shoe maker) event with Jarvis Cocker dated 04.11.26 and then a short video of Jarvis playing Tina at the venue with Adam on drums, Emma on violin and two others I could not make out.

Google came up with this:

On November 4, 2026, luxury British bootmaker John Lobb hosted an exclusive event titled 'John Lobb: Off The Record' featuring Jarvis Cocker at the historic George Tavern in London. [1]

Event Highlights
* Co-host: Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker led the evening's themes. [1]
* Notable Attendees: High-profile guests included Rocco Ritchie, Anthony Boyle, Harry Lambert, James Massiah, Ch'lita Collins, and Lea Ogunlami. [1]
* Concept: Part of John Lobb's ongoing brand activations blending its classic heritage with London's contemporary arts and rock subcultures. [1]

Venue Details
The event took place at The George Tavern, a legendary arts, music, and performance pub located at 373 Commercial Road in London's East End. [1]

Check The George Tavern´s stories on Instagram, they shared a few videos.

I´ve been checking stories of people who were lucky to attend this (obviously private) event. So far I spotted bits of:
Something Changed
Tina
Sunrise
Babies
Leftovers
My Lighthouse
Got To Have Love
A Little Soul

I wonder what the appeal is to play for an audience who don't seem to really know the songs, or who certainly aren't vibing to them?

I'll never understand why Jarvis makes the setlist and gig decisions that he does. Wythenshawe. Pulp headline. It's just the hits. End of the Road. Casual Pulp listeners. Give them the most obscure of the obscure.

I'll never get it!

So cruel! Bet they finished with Death II  :'(

And I am pretty sure the band was just Jarvis, Emma, Adam and Jason. The other guy on stage was a photographer 😉

I guess it's a good sign that Jarvis still has the bug to perform and also challenge himself with old songs that would need a bit of rehearsing.

If Candida or Mark (I assume Nick goes with the flow) don't want to come back in a year or two, you'd think that at least Jarv Is... would return.

Quite amusing that at the same time this was going on, Mark was in Berlin last night putting on a couple of films at a small cinema (if I remember right from his Insta story).

He hasn't played that since... 2009?!

Mental. And not one Jarv Is... song despite half the band accompanying him.

If you're drip-feeding the deep cuts like this, what are we missing... Girls Like It Too ?!

Hearing* he did the full version of The Loss Adjuster as an encore.

*I'm not.

Missed opportunity for One Man Show.

(Also, those Jarvis solo shows from the first 2 albums were legendary.)

I think they have got it largely bang on.

Wythenshawe audience was 95% people that knew around 5 songs and listened to More once.

They threw a few curveballs in to gigs such as Paris.

They hinted that EOTR was for the diehards when they announced the dates (admittedly it wasn't enough for me to gamble on a three day festival and a ten hour round drive).

At this private gig, the host likely had a very big say on the setlist.

That said...
Pulp do have quite a very big catalogue of quality, but obscure, songs. And they also have a sizeable base of diehards who are desperate for rarities. On both fronts they have relatively more than most bands.

If they tour again I'd love to see a tour that mixes big and small venues, with the big venues listed as 'hits' and the small venues listed as 'obscurities'.

I'm typing this in the hope that they are reading   ;)

Leftovers? Why would he play Leftovers?
