My family are on holiday in Normandy and had no idea we were only a 1hr drive from festival so bought resale tickets around 65Euro a couple of days ago. The timings showed it was gonna be a short and sweet 1hr10 of Pulp on the second smaller stage at 11:45pm.

The festival itself was very chilled, nice atmosphere. Lots of families etc, leaning more towards Rap and Electronica.

Before Pulp's slot some dude was rapping on the main stage and that seemed to draw 99% of the 25k festival audience. Leaving a very small gaggle of Pulp fans on the barrier.. we hung back a little bit to enjoy the lights and visuals but you could have been 2 or 3 people back within minutes of Pulp arriving on stage. It was very relaxed, almost seemed a bit unreal and we had the perfect view.

We were expecting a standard/shorter "festival set", hoping for some of those rarities that seem to elude us (Seconds), but it was as expected. Jarvis kept talk to a minimum, it sounded awesome and they bashed through the hits (bit too much crowd talk through Farmers Market) and then it was over.

So no real deep cuts but it didnt matter, we jumped up and down, sung our hearts out and had big smiles on our faces at the end. That's what it's all about and we know Pulp are always gonna deliver the goods.

Anyhow, a nice treat we weren't expecting when we set off on our holidays. Roll on London (daughter is doing Manchester too) and End of the Road (here's hoping it's still gonna be "unusual").
